Childhood Obesity

This web-page is part of school project for Public Writing. My research project is childhood obesity. I am very interested in the topic for several reasons. (1) In adolescence I myself was overweight and understand the causes and effects firsthand. (2) I have spend the past ten years educating myself on exercise and healthy eating habits making it a lifestyle not a fad which helps me to understand the struggles.(3) I work in human resources and see the rising costs of health care and I am worried about the detrimental effects obesity has on our health-care system.  (4) My overall concern for impressionable youth who may be unaware  their health may be in jeopardy because of their lifestyles.
